"Welcome to the Shelby County Circuit Court Clerk's website. It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of Shelby County as Circuit Court Clerk since September 1994.

The Shelby County Circuit Court Clerk is elected by the people of Shelby County to serve a four (4) year term. In 1996, we began an initiative to improve our computer services and move into the 21st century. Since then, we have teamed with a private company to provide the citizens a 'cutting-edge' information system.

The days of physically coming to the Courthouse and searching through huge docket books and mountains of filing jackets are gradually fading away. Most information can be obtained through this website or by calling our office for fast and friendly service.

Jimmy Moore is a graduate of Tech High School and he also attended Memphis State University. Additionally, Jimmy is a Certified Public Administrator from the University of Tennessee. He was re-elected for his third term as Circuit Court Clerk for Shelby County in August, 2002. He is a member of the "International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials, and Treasurers" (IACREOT), and the "County Officials Association of Tennessee" (COATS).

Prior to serving as Clerk, Jimmy was on the Memphis City Council from 1986 until 1994. Winning two re-elections, he was appointed Chairman by his colleagues in 1990.

On a more personal note, Jimmy is the father of four and is married to Barbara Moore. He is an active member of Bellevue Baptist Church where he serves as an usher and enjoys being involved with local charities.
