
Chris
Turner, Clerk
General Sessions Court Clerk since September of 1996,
Chris Turner was born in Humboldt, Tennessee in 1946. He is married
with two sons and a member of Highland Heights Baptist Church.
After
graduating from Treadwell High School in 1965, Chris Turner attended
the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He graduated with a B.S. in
Business in 1969 and received his law degree in 1973. He practiced law
from 1973 through 1996.
Chris Turner has been involved
in several organizations. He served as Treasurer for the Highland Heights
Optimist Club. He is a former member of both the Memphis Jaycees and
the Memphis Kiwanas Club. Chris Turner was a member of the Phi Alpha
Delta legal fraternity and the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. In the
past, Chris Turner has served on the Board of Directors for the Mason-Northeast
YMCA as well as the West Tennessee MS Society. He was Chairman of the
Hope Chest Drive for the West Tennessee MS Society.
Chris Turner served in the
House of Representatives for 14 year as a member of the 90th through
96th Tennessee General Assemblies, serving as Vice-Chairman of the House
Judiciary Committee and Chairman of the House Labor and Consumer Affairs
Committee.
