Mission

To assist with rehabilitation by linking court-involved youth and their families to services that promote healthy development and prosocial behavior in order to reduce the likelihood of re-offending.

Goals and Objectives

The Goals and Objective of the Office of Clinical Services are to:

  • Assist with the identification of mental health and other special needs
  • Refer youth and their families to appropriate intervention services
  • Support and monitor youth’s participation and progress in services

Services and Programs

The Office of Clinical Services is comprised of the Evaluation and Referral and Assessment and Service Planning Sections.

The Evaluation and Referral (E&R) Section of the Office of Clinical Services is responsible for the casework and management of delinquent offenders with mental health or special needs; coordination of preliminary diagnostic mental health services with psychologists as deemed necessary for children alleged to be unruly, delinquent, or dependent and neglected; participation in case staffings; and making additional referrals to a bank of public and private mental health-related service providers. By seeking appropriate prevention, intervention, and treatment, children have a much higher likelihood of success and a decreased chance of re-entry into the juvenile justice system.

The Assessment and Service Planning Section of the Office of Clinical Services is responsible for conducting the mental health and substance abuse screenings of court-involved youth, and other mental health and special needs evaluations of youth referred to E&R, for purposes of program and treatment planning.
